The picture above shows the scene of the Bank bombing in March 1941， three months after the attack.
Recovery is well under way – a temporary， military-style bridge， known as a ‘Bailey bridge’， has been erected over the crater， enabling traffic to continue through the City of London.
A new set of stairs has been built at the entrance to the Underground， and the side walls of the station ticket office have been shored up with supports.

この写真は、第二次世界大戦末期1941年3月にバンク駅で起きた爆撃の様子を、攻撃から3か月後に撮影したものです。復旧作業はすでに本格的に進んでおり、クレーターの上には「ベイリー橋」と呼ばれる軍用の仮設橋が架けられ、ロンドン市内の交通が継続できるようになっています。地下鉄入口には新しい階段が設けられ、駅の切符売り場の側壁は支柱で補強されています。
